About

I’m not a skinny girl trapped in a fat girl’s body. I don’t hate myself because of how I look. Do I cringe when I look in the mirror ? Sometimes…but only recently. 🙂 Is weight loss my goal? No.

I’m after health and fitness…little things such as being able to walk up the stairs without my heart rate increasing…being able to walk without getting out of breath. I’ve been fat all my life, and I love myself. I don’t think being fat is the worst thing in the world, but it’s way past time I faced the reality that it’s not the best thing for me.

So, I’m finally doing this health thing, not because I think I’m so gross and my life won’t be perfect until I shrink.

Doing it…out of love.

In other news, I’m 27…and I weigh 290 pounds (well, that’s what  I weighed on March 16, 2013).

    Hi Lori,
I just read through all your posts so far and I cross my fingers for you to stay on track with your goals 🙂
But, just a thought from my point of view: skip the scale completely. I know it can be important to see how the figures go down, but as soon as you loose weight and actually build muscle (you’ll do by working out – no matter what) you’ll gain weight, just because muscles are heavier than fat, but you’ll shape up at the same time. At least for me it was always irritating to see the scale going up, even though my body toned up.
Oh and if the 90 day program from BeFit isn’t so much for you, try workouts from Zuzka Light or LovingFit.
    Cheers

      Thanks, Hanni!
Oh, I just do the weekly weigh-in for accountability purposes. The numbers don’t matter to me. Lol. I’m immune to the scale, but the weekly numbers give me a good idea of what works and what doesn’t.
      Thanks again!
